Financing certified blueberry production
Global consumers increasingly demand healthy food products, while awareness of their impact on climate and nature continues to grow. Meeting such demand requires agricultural models that protect natural resources and the ecosystems that sustain production.
Our USD 20 million direct loan to Agrovisión Peru supports the expansion of certified sustainable blueberry production while actively protecting local biodiversity, demonstrating how purpose‑driven capital can unlock both, business growth and positive environmental impact.
The investment also reflects the Fund’s growing focus on direct investments, enabling closer collaboration with companies. In agriculture, this approach allows for hands-on engagement to strengthen systems, address gaps, and embed sustainability practices over time.

Scaling up sustainable practices
Agrovisión’s strong biodiversity record makes it a natural partner for EBF’s sustainable agriculture strategy. Together, we can further strengthen its environmental impact. The company exceeds many regional sustainability benchmarks: Fully certified under GlobalG.A.P. Fruits and Vegetables and complies with ISO 14001:2015, ISO 14064-1:2018, and additional food safety, environmental, and social standards.
Our investment supports the expansion of their sustainable production processes, further strengthening sustainability performance and increasing their alignment with international environmental management standards, including the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (“TNFD”).

Working with the eco.business Fund has helped us translate our sustainability initiatives into measurable outcomes, increasingly aligned with international impact reporting standards.
As global demand for blueberries as a healthy snack continues to grow, scaling our operations goes hand in hand with strengthening our environmental performance and ensuring sustainable long-term growth.

Quantifying environmental impact in practice
Our investment supports the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices across Agrovisión’s blueberry operations, helping make production more resource-efficient while reducing pressure on natural ecosystems.
Key expected outcomes include:
- Lower water consumption through efficient irrigation, fertigation, and hydroponic technologies.
- Reduced use of synthetic pesticides through integrated pest management and biological control methods, helping protect soil, water resources, and biodiversity.
- Lower fertilizer demand through more efficient production systems, supporting healthier soils and reducing environmental impacts.
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions through improved cultivation practices that require fewer inputs and resources.
Enhanced compliance with international food safety, labor, and environmental standards, strengthening both operational efficiency and environmental performance.
Together, these improvements contribute to healthier ecosystems, more sustainable use of natural resources, and greater resilience across agricultural landscapes.
To measure these outcomes, Agrovisión’s sustainability performance is assessed using the eco.business Fund’s biodiversity indicator, developed with PRé Sustainability. The indicator compares conventional agricultural practices with the more sustainable approaches adopted by Fund clients, helping quantify how improved resource management, lower chemical inputs, and stronger environmental practices reduce pressure on ecosystems and support biodiversity.
This allows us to move beyond individual activities and better understand the broader environmental benefits generated through sustainable agricultural production.

Peru stands among the world’s leading exporters of blueberries, a product experiencing strong global demand as consumers increasingly seek healthy, natural snacks. Through the sustainable practices supported by the eco.business Fund, Agrovisión will employ more biodiversity friendly production techniques and enhance its resilience to the effects of climate change.
